Minding the Margin
Over-functioning. Over-giving. Over it.
Welcome to the margin.
Hi, I'm Ashley
I spent the majority of my life believing that a good Christian woman didn't need anything, didn't ask for anything, and didn't cost anything. I had absorbed theology that told me suffering was faithfulness. I kept the peace at my own expense and called it obedience.Marriage is certainly where I learned to disappear the most, but it wasn't the only place I was doing it. I silenced my own ambition and called wanting things selfish. I put off dreams because I assumed it just "wasn't my season" and told myself that I should simply be content with the life God had given me. But shrinking isn't the same as contentment. For all the ways overfunctioning, over-giving, and overwhelm showed up in my life...as shrinking, as shame, as believing I would never be enough...the roots ran so deep I can't remember a time that I didn't feel like my purpose in life was to absorb everyone else's inconveniences. It wasn't until my late thirties that I started questioning things.Questioning them didn't change my circumstances. But it drastically changed how I was able to show up.Now I help women stop disappearing...in their lives and in their marriages...so they can find the margin to show up as the women they were created to be. With passions, insights, creativity, wisdom, and all the other parts of themselves they stopped tending a long time ago.Find the language, clarity, and the practical tools to stop shrinking and start showing up in your own life.
